CMOCC + Sibme Event:

Recruiting and Retaining Quality Teachers

Build on the Sibme-sponsored Happy Hour with the Colorado Men of Color Collaborative we hosted a virtual lunch-and learn sharing strategies for recruiting and retaining high quality teachers on October 23th.

85% of Colorado educators say the shortage of classroom teachers in their school is worse than in previous years and sixty percent of educators said they’re thinking about leaving the profession in the near future. In this virtual lunch and learn we examinined trends in teacher retention for Denver Area schools and strategies that districts are using to leverage high-quality teacher support to drive teacher retention.

Some of the benefits of usign Sibme:

  • Video recordings provide teachers with a reflective tool to observe and evaluate their teaching, bridging the gap between perception and reality.
  • Teachers find value in identifying areas for improvement through video analysis.
  • This approach empowers self-reflection, collaboration, and professional growth.
  • The convenience and time-saving aspects of video recordings are highly appreciated.
  • Teachers receive valuable, job-embedded feedback without the need to leave their classrooms.
  • It fosters a sense of ownership over their learning process.
  • The non-intrusive nature of video analysis is less disruptive to the classroom environment.
  • It enables teachers to continuously enhance their teaching skills through experiential learning.
