Francone Elementary - TX
Facing high teacher turnover and low student performance, Francone Elementary turned to Sibme’s video coaching. Led by Dr. Tonya Goree, the school saw dramatic improvements in teaching, behavior, and STAAR scores, earning three Gold Distinctions.
The Challenge
Francone Elementary School, part of Cy-Fair ISD in Texas, faced significant struggles during the 2014-15 school year. Nearly 87% of students were economically disadvantaged, and the school ranked near the bottom of the district for STAAR scores. Adding to the challenge, Francone experienced a high 42% teacher turnover rate, creating instability in classrooms
The Solution
Cy-Fair ISD appointed Dr. Tonya Goree, a proven leader, to spearhead Francone’s transformation. With a clear vision for improvement, she implemented a structured coaching plan that engaged every teacher in at least three video coaching sessions.
Using the Sibme app, coaches seamlessly recorded classroom interactions, uploaded videos, and provided targeted feedback aligned with each teacher’s individual goals. These insights fostered deep reflection, empowering educators to refine their instructional strategies. Through this collaborative process, teachers and coaches worked together to drive meaningful progress, ultimately creating a more effective and supportive learning environment.
The Results
The results speak for themselves. Teacher turnover dropped significantly, bringing greater stability to the educational team. Behavioral referrals also decreased considerably, creating a more positive classroom environment. Disruptions were drastically reduced, allowing students to focus better on learning.
Thanks to these achievements, Francone earned three Gold Distinctions for student progress.
Academic performance also saw remarkable gains, with students showing significant growth in math, reading, writing, and science—paving the way for continued success and learning.
Dr. Goree’s efforts extended beyond Francone, influencing district-wide practices. Now an assistant superintendent, she continues to champion Sibme’s coaching model, helping other schools achieve similar success.
