The Challenge

Cy-Fair ISD, one of the largest districts in Texas, was looking for a scalable solution to enhance teaching across its 91 schools. Traditional classroom observations lacked precision, and teachers had limited opportunities for feedback and collaboration.

The Solution

In 2015, Cy-Fair ISD launched a pilot program with Sibme, a cloud-based platform, across nine of its schools. The platform allowed teachers to record their lessons, share videos with colleagues, and receive detailed, time-stamped feedback. This innovative approach significantly improved the accuracy and effectiveness of classroom observations. In addition to fostering better feedback, the district implemented four distinct models to maximize the platform’s potential:

  • Self-Reflection: Teachers analyzed their own videos.

  • Team Collaboration: Groups built video libraries and exchanged feedback.

  • Collegial Partnership: Teachers coached each other.

  • Video Coaching: Coaches provided non-evaluative feedback.

The Results

Within three years, nearly half of Cy-Fair ISD’s schools adopted Sibme, and all Title I campuses met Texas standards. Sibme streamlined professional development by providing an easy-to-use platform with ongoing support from the Customer Success Team, ensuring a smooth implementation. This transformation fostered collaboration and growth across the district, demonstrating how technology can enhance teaching and improve student outcomes.
